Why Connect an Email Provider?

Connecting your email provider to Dubb allows you to send personalized bulk video messages directly from your existing email address. This means higher deliverability, more engagement, and greater trust with your audience.

Whether you're using Gmail, Outlook, or a custom SMTP provider—this step-by-step guide will show you how to get set up.

Step-by-Step Setup Instructions

Here's a quick video:

1. Navigate to Campaign Settings

  • Go to your Dubb dashboard.

  • On the left sidebar, scroll down to “Team” > “Campaign Settings.”
    |

  • Click the blue “+” button in the top right to add a new campaign configuration.

2. Choose Email Type and Provider

  • In the “Add Configuration” window:

    • Select Email as the type.

    • Confirm your name is listed as the Owner.

    • Choose your Sharing preferences (e.g., Just Me, Entire Team).

    • Then, under Provider, select your email service:

      • Gmail API

      • Outlook

      • SMTP

      • SendGrid

      • Mailgun

      • Amazon SES

Configuration for Each Provider

🔹 Gmail API

  • Choose Gmail API.

  • A new window will open prompting you to log in and authorize access.

  • Make sure you're logged into the correct Gmail account in your browser.

  • Click Allow, and Gmail will now be linked to Dubb.

Note: Gmail accounts typically allow sending to 300 recipients per day. For cold emails, keep it to under 50 per day to avoid deliverability issues.

🔹 Outlook

  • Choose Outlook from the provider list.

  • As with Gmail, make sure you’re logged into your Microsoft 365 account in your browser.

  • Approve the connection when prompted.

Note: Like Gmail, Outlook is limited to 300 daily sends and should not be used for large-scale cold outreach.

🔹 SMTP Providers (SendGrid, Mailgun, AWS SES, etc.)

  • Choose your SMTP provider.

  • Enter the SMTP credentials required (host, port, username, password).

  • If unsure, contact your email provider or search “[Provider Name] SMTP settings” on Google.

SendGrid Tip:
SendGrid is highly recommended if you plan to send more than 300 emails per day. Plans start at around $20/month for 50,000 emails, making it ideal for newsletters and larger campaigns.

Sending Campaigns Once Configured

Once your provider is connected:

  • Head to the Campaigns tab on Dubb.

  • Click Create Campaign, choose Email or SMS.

  • Add your sender, subject line, and video.

  • Use tokens like {firstName} to personalize your emails.

  • Choose your contact list.

  • Send immediately or schedule for later.

You can also use Quick Campaigns from your Videos page to instantly send a message to a selected contact list.
