Step-by-Step Guide on Add, Edit and Download Captions

Step 1: Enable Automatic Captioning in Your Preset
Presets on Dubb allow you to apply consistent branding and features to your videos. To ensure closed captions are automatically generated, follow these steps:
Go to the Dashboard.
Click Assets > Presets from the left-hand menu.
Select an existing preset or click the pencil Edit icon.
Scroll to the Video Options section.
Check the box labeled "Transcribe video automatically."
This enables Dubb to auto-generate subtitles (closed captions) for every video that uses this preset.
Once this is done, every video using this preset will have captions generated as soon as it finishes uploading and processing.
Step 2: Locate Your Video and Captions
Once the transcription is complete:
Navigate to Videos from the left-hand menu.
Locate the video that used the preset with automatic transcription enabled.
Hover over the Closed Captions (CC) icon and click the dropdown arrow.
You’ll see an option to Download SRT.
Step 3: Edit Your SRT File
SRT (SubRip Subtitle) files are simple text files with timecodes. To make changes:
Click Download SRT.
Open the file using:
Notepad (Windows)
TextEdit (Mac)
Edit the content as needed. Ensure the
.srtfile extension remains the same.Save the file.
Step 4: Upload the Edited Captions
To apply your updated captions:
Go back to the video in your Videos dashboard.
Click the CC dropdown again.
Choose Upload SRT.
Select your updated file.
Dubb will immediately update your video with the revised subtitles.
