How to Gate Videos Using Forms

Gating videos with forms allows you to collect and qualify leads by requiring viewers to complete a form before watching. Follow these steps to set up video gating:

Step 1: Create a Form

  • Go to Assets > Forms.

  • Click the + sign to add a new form.

  • Enter the Form Name (for internal use).

  • Set the Form Title (visible to viewers).

  • Add a Form Description (appears above the form).

  • Define the Button Text (e.g., "Submit").

  • Benefit: This customizes the form to match your brand and capture the information you need.

Step 2: Configure Form Fields

  • Choose which fields (e.g., name, email) are required or optional.

  • Benefit: Collect essential information to qualify leads.

Step 3: Set Completion Actions

  • Decide what happens after submission:

    • Display a custom message.

    • Redirect to a specific URL.

    • Add a tag to the contact for organization or campaign triggers.

  • Benefit: Guide viewers to the next step after they submit the form.

Step 4: Create a Call-to-Action (CTA)

  • Go to Calls to Action.

  • Name your CTA (e.g., "Video Gate Test").

  • Select the form you created.

  • Check the Gate Video option to require form completion before video access.

  • Benefit: This ensures that viewers must fill out the form to watch the video.

Step 5: Attach the CTA to Your Video

  • Edit the video and delete any existing CTA.

  • Add the new CTA and save changes.

  • Benefit: This links the form to your video, gating the content.

Step 6: Distribute Your Video

  • Share the video link via social media or direct channels.

  • Viewers will be prompted to fill out the form before accessing the video.

  • Benefit: Capture and qualify leads effectively by controlling access to your video content.
